About the Infection Prevention Network:

The IPN is a national body representing industry leading infection prevention companies guided by researchers, clinicians, and experts.

The Infection Prevention Network aims to ensure all people in Australia have access to world leading infection prevention products and have confidence in their utilisation in places of care.

Our members play a vital role in providing professionals in Health, Aged Care, Education and other sectors with essential education and training to ensure they are utilising infection prevention products correctly and in accordance with relevant procedures.

The Infection Prevention Network also works to advocate on behalf of its members with key Government and Regulatory bodies to ensure Australia has access to the most appropriate infection prevention products and procedures.

  1. To work together to protect patients and healthcare workers

  2. To ensure workplace guidance continues to stress the importance of infection prevention measures.

  3. To ensure infection prevention measures remain prominent in government public health guidance.

  4. To ensure infection prevention measures remain at the forefront of general public consciousness.

  5. To work with Government and regulators to introduce and enforce high standards of efficacy across the whole industry via better regulation and guidelines.

  6. To work with Government and regulators to ensure that products include clearly labelled instructions for effective usage in language that lay people will understand.

  7. To ensure the kite mark is ubiquitously used as an example of how members of the industry are working responsibly towards protecting patients and healthcare workers.

COVID-19:

During COVID-19 infection prevention products and practices were critical. Infection Prevention Network members worked tirelessly to ensure Australia had access to the highest standard of infection prevention products and Australian care facilities were utilising the most appropriate infection prevention practices.
